On Thursday 11-3-2021 at 10.30am Malaysian time, MPM (Majlis Perundingan Melayu) and OBORSEA (One Belt One Road SEA NGOs’ Alliance) hosted a Virtual Business Forum with the Sichuan Business Community, led by the Sichuan Logistics Group of Companies. The main theme of the Forum is ‘RCEP – Capturing 30% of the World Market Share’
MPM, together with OBORSEANA (One Belt One Road SEA NGOs’ Alliance) are the founders of Nusantara-Sino Global Holdings ( www.nusantarasino.com ), the SPV (special purpose vehicle) being incorporated to serve as the platform for the business communities within the RCEP member nations (ASEAN+5FTA).
The 2-hour forum provided opportunities for representatives from both ends, China and Malaysia, to select and focus on areas of collaboration. The Malaysian delegation were represented by two parties, with one team led by Mr Alan Hoo, the President of OBORSEANA ( www.oborsea.org ) and the other by Dato Dr Hasan Mad, the Secretary General of MPM.
The Sichuan participants were also in two separate teams, with one led by Mr Wang Xiaojin, the President of Sichuan Waizong Cloud Service Technology Co, while the other is led by Mr Lee Da Xue, better known as Lee University, who was once the Senior Vice President of JD.com and responsible in bringing JD.com to where it is today.
Jointly, the participants of the Forum resolved that they shall soon formalize their business collaboration, translating the interest and collective strength of all parties into motion to leverage on several agendas initiated by both governments, especially:
1.) The Digital Economy Blueprint by the Government of MalaysiaThe 1-Belt 1-Road Initiative by the China
2.) Government; and
3.) The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership by ASEAN+5
4.) The main attraction is the recently signed RCEP Agreement (15 November 2020) which opened a 2.0-Billion strong market for business players among the RCEP nations to explore.
Hence, the delegates had jointly agreed to brand the business initiative as ‘Championing RCEP – Capturing 30% Of World Market Share ’
During the Forum, Mr Alan Hoo had highlighted Nusantara-Sino Global Holdings’ interest and capabilities to champion multi-lateral trade among the business communities of RCEP member nations. With the dedicated digital economy platform to be developed for the purpose, Mr Hoo extended his invitation, especially to all Malaysian business players, to come on board and explore the opportunities to market products they have to the 2.0- billion population of the RCEP market.
Dato Dr Hasan added and highlighted the 3 business initiatives being promoted by MPM, namely:
1.) The development of the Halal Industry Hub of the East @ Hainan Free Trade Island;
2.) The development of the Islamic Financial Hub of the East @ Hainan Free Trade Island; and
3.) The development of smart business partnership (Malaysia-Sichuan) in the New Economy. Mr Lee University (aka Lee Da Xue) for example, is interested to partner those who wish to venture with him into the Data Industrialization scene.
All parties involved have expressed agreement in partnership, thus giving birth to one of the largest regional turnkey trade and investment ecosystem which is very much in line with the objectives of the RCEP agreement. On Thursday 25-3-2021 at 2.00 pm, Nusantara-Sino Global Holdings will be hosting a hybrid meeting, both at Wisma MPM, Jalan Ledang off Jalan Duta, 50480 KL and on Google Meet, to share with the Malaysian Business Communities, especially among the Bumiputera Business Community @ MPM, the opportunities that have been initiated and agreed upon at the Forum. The invitation is hereby extended to those interested to be part of the mission towards the RCEP 2.0-Billion Market.
